Motorsport livery costs depend on three things: the car (a 1960s GT vs a modern hypercar require different work), the livery (single-period replica vs full one-off design), and source material (existing reference vs reconstruction from photographs). Period-correct historic liveries typically run £3,500–£12,000; one-off hypercar liveries can reach £15,000+. We quote every project from a brief and a vehicle inspection.

Yes — most historic livery work starts with period photographs and minimal physical reference. We work backwards from the images: matching the exact font of sponsor logos, identifying the correct vinyl colour from period printing samples, scaling decals from known dimensions on the car. Some of our most iconic restorations have come from a handful of grainy 1970s racing photos.

Yes — Goodwood-bound work is some of our most regular. The Revival's strict period-accuracy standards mean every decal needs to be correct for the car's competition era; the Festival of Speed allows more creative freedom but the cars on display draw a serious crowd. We work to the timeline of the event and have direct experience with both meetings.

Yes — and routinely. We've applied liveries to one-off hypercars and seven-figure historic race cars. For high-value private projects, discretion is a default — no social media posts, no portfolio publication, no third-party visits to the workshop without owner approval. NDAs are standard if the project requires it.

For most modern racing and hypercar liveries, we use cast premium vinyl with UV-stable inks — the same material used by factory race teams. For period-correct historic restorations, we sometimes use specialist reproductions of vintage vinyl finishes or hand-painted lettering on areas that wouldn't have used decals in period. The choice depends on the era we're recreating.

Lead times vary by complexity. A single-piece livery refresh on a known car can be turned around in two to three weeks. A full historic recreation from photographs — research, design proofs, plotting, application — typically takes six to twelve weeks. Goodwood projects we plan three to six months out so the car is ready for scrutineering.
